YB Ustaz Hishamuddin Bin Abdul Karim began his career in 2005 as a Human Resources Executive at PETRONAS in the East Coast Region, where he served for eight years. In 2013, he was elected as the representative for the DUN Tepoh constituency, a position he holds to this day.

From 2018 to 2024, he held several significant positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of YTYI Sdn. Bhd. (Permai Hotel), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konsortium Perumahan Rakyat Terengganu, Member of the Board of Directors of Kolej Kemahiran Yayasan Terengganu, Member of the Board of Directors of Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team, and Member of the Management Council of the Terengganu State Sports Council.

Starting in 2023, he was appointed as the State Exco for Youth Development, Sports, and NGOs in Terengganu, as well as elected as the President of the Terengganu State Football Association. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GPQ SDN. BHD.
